Riese & Müller showcases wide range of models at IAA Transportation fair
12.09.2024
Mühltal, 12.09.2024: Riese & Müller, the premium manufacturer of e-bikes and cargo bikes, will be exhibiting cargo bikes at the IAA Transportation which have been specially tailored to professional needs. Riese & Müller is attending the leading industry trade fair for logistics and commercial vehicles in Hanover for the second time in order to further establish e-bikes as a sustainable mobility solution in the business sector.
Highlights of this year’s trade fair appearance include a Packster 70 intended for use by the fire service, and a Transporter2 85, which is used by a firm of chimney sweeps.
The Packster 70 is a special design for the Reichelsheim Fire Service, where it will be used to transport material, as a safety vehicle for events and for exercises. It has a small turning circle thanks to its cable-controlled steering and so can also be manoeuvred in narrow streets, offering plenty of space for equipment and materials on its large loading area.
The Transporter2 85 being exhibited is intended for a Berlin-based firm of chimney sweeps which has been using cargo bikes in its fleet for several years. With its sturdy, lockable Utility Box, the cargo bike provides extra-large, protected storage space for tools and small parts. A ladder can also be mounted on the side. It means that tradespersons can now ride directly to the customers’ front door – and looking for parking spaces in town is now a thing of the past.

Riese & Müller Business Unit: the right solution for every purpose
These specially equipped models represent the individual solutions offered to companies and authorities of all sizes by the company’s own Business Unit – from wholesale and retail delivery services, trade businesses and self-employed people to mobility providers and municipal institutions. Depending on the partner concept, dealers are directly involved in the process and either have primary responsibility for supporting the projects or act as local service partners.
A wide range of models for the most diverse uses
The basis of the product offering of the Riese & Müller Business Unit are the four business models Transporter2 65, Transporter2 85, Multitinker and Nevo4, which can be individually configured to the specific purpose for which they will be used. GPS trackers and smart locks provide for digital, automated operation as a fleet or in sharing schemes. Smart add-ons connect the models to popular mobility platforms and systems, transforming the e-bikes into connected bikes. Their intuitive Enviolo gear guarantees minimal maintenance. Optionally, a company’s own design of decals can be used to provide brand recognition value when the bike is in use.
Best Practice: diversity in practice
Stuttgart: Since the beginning of June, 100 Riese & Müller Transporter2 65 bikes have been ridden as rental bikes around the Baden-Württemberg state capital. “Stuttgarter Rössle”, a cargo bike rental company, is targeting Stuttgart residents, allowing them to rent cargo bikes, equipped with cover and child seats, on a long-term basis. The project was realised in cooperation with the City of Stuttgart’s Mobility department and a local dealer.
carvelo2go: One of the most innovative projects in the business customer sector started back in 2015: carvelo2go. Today, with over 400 cargo bikes in 100 cities and municipalities, it is the world’s largest cargo bike sharing system.
ADAC: Riese & Müller Business Bikes have also been used since 2020 throughout Germany by the ADAC roadside assistance service. ADAC roadside service personnel can quickly and reliably reach their destination without being affected by traffic jams or traffic obstacles.
Alnatura: Another project to come from the Business Unit is the joint sharing offer with the organic food company Alnatura: In several major German cities – including Berlin, Munich, Hanover and Karlsruhe – the company’s Super Natur supermarkets feature Riese & Müller cargo bikes, which customers can rent.
