Premium SUV from Riese & Müller is honoured with the most important bicycle design prize.
For the Delite GT touring model, the manufacturer of premium E-Bikes from Darmstadt received the Eurobike Award in Friedrichshafen yesterday evening. The E-Bike was honoured in the category for E-Bikes & Pedelecs.
The Eurobike Award is amongst the highest awards which a company can receive in the cycle industry. It is awarded only for especially innovative product novelties and innovations, and therefore sends out a clear message to dealers and consumers. The competition is held by the exhibition company Messe Friedrichshafen, in collaboration with the Deutscher Designer Club (DDC). This year, the decision-making process by the award jury was simplified for the first time by a digital pre-selection in which an extended twelve-person jury made an initial selection from amongst the award competitors. After this, 270 product innovations remained on the short list.
The two managing directors, Markus Riese and Heiko Müller, were delighted about winning of the Eurobike Award again: "We are thrilled about the Eurobike Award. It is a great honour for us to be amongst the winners at the end from more than 270 pre-selected product innovations, and it confirms us in the work that we do.”
The new Delite GT touring is the premium SUV from amongst the Riese & Müller E-Bikes. A Shimano 11-speed derailleur gear lends the drive of the E-Bike an extremely high degree of efficiency. The combination of 27.5" wheels with broad tires and Control Technology offers optimal shock absorption, safe road adhesion, and outstanding running smoothness, even at high speeds. From model year 2017, at Riese & Müller, the term "Control Technology" represents all full-suspension wheels. The active rear swing arm, the optimised front-wheel suspension, and the co-sprung luggage carrier constitute its core. A highly functional design and intelligent detailed solutions such as the cable routing concealed in the frame give the Delite its unmistakable character. By using two fully integrated batteries with the Bosch dual battery system, the battery capacity is doubled to 1,000 Wh, which makes Riese & Müller "best in class" in terms of range.
